School Facilities

The Lord Stirling School is located in Basking Ridge at the same property at which it was founded in 1965, part of the estate of William Alexander, “Lord Stirling,” a Major General in George Washington’s Continental Army. Like its neighbors, Lord Stirling Park and the Great Swamp National Wildlife Refuge, the School’s property is open, and wooded with open fields and natural areas.

The School offices and classrooms are located in the historic farmhouse, the original homestead on the grounds.

The Lord Stirling Outdoor Education Center is located on grounds behind the farmhouse. The Outdoor Center’s facilities are available to students and are used in the academic and social curriculum for students when appropriate.

An outdoor swimming pool is located adjacent to the Outdoor Education Center’s climbing wall and ropes course facilities

Gymnasium, workout room and shop facilities are located in the property’s historic Dutch Barn.
